When we first started working with this client all of their traffic was coming from paid ads.

Our goal was to increase organic impressions, traffic and leads from organic traffic so they could reduce paid ad spend.

The screenshot below shows the organic traffic growth of the content we created and this case study documents how we accomplished this.

Strategy

Our strategy to do SEO for SaaS is super simple, find bottom of funnel keywords that are related to the product.

The best performing keyword templates are:

All of these keywords have search intent that is related to a software purchasing decision and the person who searches these keywords is in a mind space that is open to software discovery.

Our client offered banking services for business, we found keywords like:

By focusing on these keywords we identified people who we’re looking for business banking solutions.

Execution

We wrote and published 100 articles per month for the client.

To do this we took our target keywords and scraped what was ranking on page one currently.

We then wrote a first draft of each article based on this data.

Next a human edited each article and published to their site.

We then submited the sitemap and set up our proprietary autoindexing software to help speed up the indexing process.

Finally we helped them optimize the pages by creating call to actions strategically placed throughout the posts.

Once these pages we’re live and getting traffic, we then created a dashboard to analyze what pages actually making signups.

We found that “best credit card for x business” we’re performing best so we focused our efforts here.

By doing this we created and organic traffic flywheel that made signups but also fed their facebook pixel with people who we’re looking for their services that they could remarket to.
